COCKTAIL COLLAB – A new dining offer at the Long Bar of Raffles Makati where guests and diners will be treated to bespoke cocktails prepared by their award winning bartenders. Basically you choose your flavour and liquor preference, the procedure / methods for the cocktail and you get to choose on what glass they’ll serve it and finally the name of the cocktail, how cool is that?!
BACON! Yes a bacon cocktail! And it’s actually really good – pieces of smoked bacon, black label, dissarono and green chartreuse. It had these nice smoky notes running in the background and then that amaretto flavour hits you along with the refreshing base to balance the nose and palate. GOOD! HAPPY HOUR MANILA – A new bar and restaurant in City Golf Plaza serving some uncomplicated food and drinks. I had dinner here with some foodie friends where we tried almost everything on the menu, cocktails included.
This is their Beary Sour Whiskey of bourbon + lemon base and that foamy egg white on top with those yummy gummy bears on top. It’s an eye candy of a drink that’s actually quite good. Continue reading Fun Food and Drinks at Happy Hour Manila @happyhourmnl
A lot of people go to 71 Gramercy to party, it’s been one of the hottest destinations in the Manila bar scene for quite a while now. But what a lot of people don’t know is they serve some really good food too. This place has one of the best views in the Metro and couple that with some palatable dishes makes for an awesome dining experience.
A personal favorite from the stuff that we tried, Breakfast for Dinner of smoked and cured, melt-in-your-mouth pork belly – fantastic! Continue reading Dining at 71 Gramercy: Savor Fine Food and a Fantastic View of the Metro
Il Ponticello Cucina Italiana – rediscover this old favorite in Makati, with a gorgeous looking bar that sets a focal point of the restaurant and then there’s the spacious dining room with tasteful interiors and cozy booths, giving this right balance of comfort and classy vibe that I really like. But what impressed me the most was their food – simple Italian Cuisine done right and some dishes given a new spin and I’d say the execution was very much on point. We had a leisurely weekend brunch here that turned out to be a 4-hour feast – good food a lot of it and quality time with some amazing people.
Happiness is when you see a gorgeous log of slow roasted pochetta / pork belly that’s generously seasoned with fennel and garlic, a nice crackle as you cut into it that’s good enough to have as your smartphone’s alert tone. That brunch was definitely a feast and all of the stuff we tried, I really liked.

Aside from the extensive array of killer drinks and cocktails, The Long Bar at Raffles Makati launched a new power lunch menu called The Long and Short of It consisting some very palatable dishes, from small bites like the bar chows to some really promising entrées. One may indulge on their ala carte dishes or the special tailored set menu; choice of one appetizer and one main course.
This is their Steak Frites – a gorgeous slab of wagyu flank steak served with fries and and a rich, earthy and peppery mushroom sauce. One of my favorites from the entrées we got.

Recently Fairmont and Raffles Hotel opened at the Ayala Center, and I’ve wanted to try the new restaurants that they launched with it. One of them is the Long bar. A casual dining place that serves amazing beverages along with a really nice laid back ambiance.
Complimentary nuts for the drink, and you might think why would I use this as the cover picture for the post right? Well there’s this nice story behind it. There are a total of 9 Raffles Hotel now and we’re only the second one to have a Long Bar, nice right? As for the story behind the nuts, Long Bar originated in Singapore that’s a communist country. And they have this tradition at the Long Bar there to throw the nut shells on the floor after munching on it, at the bar it’s a free zone, they can do everything they want and stuff so for them it’s rather a simple rebellious act, Cool!

Since COVA opened last January, I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about it, mostly raves about the food and the killer drinks, we had dinner there the other night, where we stuffed ourselves with some really good food; some tapas, LOTS of sangrias, and a mouthwatering Cochinillo to top it off. One amazing dinner.
First WOW of the dinner their take on steak tartare, the Tartar de Toro, an awesome combination of flavor and texture, you’ll love the chorizo infused migas, so good!
