BLACK OLIVE PAELLA – The deep flavour of their paella starts with a good sofrito that’s made of aromatic ingredients that builds up the flavour that marries well with the seafood bits that it’s cooked with. It’s filling, flavourful and definitely filling. Continue reading 10 New Dishes to Try at Black Olive Capitol Commons

Value for Money Pizza and Pasta Treats by Pomodoro Pizza Kitchen, Kapitolyo

POMODORO PIZZA KITCHEN – A nice discovery, hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Kapitolyo, Pasig serving some really good pizza and pasta dishes at very affordable prices. We tried a number of their dishes and I really liked the stuff that we tried, was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food they serve here and how affordable the food was. They also have an event to celebrate Pasta Day on August 26, 12pm to 10pm where they sell all their pasta dishes at P50!!!

GINO’S BRICK OVEN PIZZA: Pizza and Comfort Food Heaven

GINO’S BRICK OVEN PIZZA – I can still remember the first time I tried SMEGG at this restaurant, It was at their Podium branch and I just finished a shoot for a restaurant there and a friend invited me to join their dinner at Gino’s. The pizza was love at first sight, it had everything that I love; gouda, sausage, mushroom and gooey egg on a pie and I took a bite and was blown away! It was so good, exceeding my expectations it was definitely one of the best, if not the best pizza that I’ve tried.

Rediscover Il Ponticello Cucina Italiana

Il Ponticello Cucina Italiana – rediscover this old favorite in Makati, with a gorgeous looking bar that sets a focal point of the restaurant and then there’s the spacious dining room with tasteful interiors and cozy booths, giving this right balance of comfort and classy vibe that I really like. But what impressed me the most was their food – simple Italian Cuisine done right and some dishes given a new spin and I’d say the execution was very much on point. We had a leisurely weekend brunch here that turned out to be a 4-hour feast – good food a lot of it and quality time with some amazing people.

Happiness is when you see a gorgeous log of slow roasted pochetta / pork belly that’s generously seasoned with fennel and garlic, a nice crackle as you cut into it that’s good enough to have as your smartphone’s alert tone. That brunch was definitely a feast and all of the stuff we tried, I really liked.
