Reviving my quick bites and random cravings series of post with this new instant cereal drink that I’ve been snacking on recently. Brought in by a big food and beverage brand, Food Empire the NutriRite cereal drink comes in three flavors; original, oats and honey, and low fat.
COOKIE BUTTER — I remember the first time I tried this well-loved spread, it absolutely blew my mind. I guess it helped that I’m crazy over cinnamon that’s why this spiced cookie spread appealed to me so much. There’s been a fad over cookie butter for a couple of months now, and now that’s it’s finally settling down, the spread is more common and available to the local market. Now I was doing the usual grocery run the other day and I came across this glorious tub of speculoos flavored ice cream. It’s under Nestle’s Temptation line of ice cream, they came up with this Dutch Speculoos variant. And since I’m in the lookout for something sweet, I figured this would be a good treat to deal with my random sweet tooth craving.
I’m starting a new series of posts for the blog — FOODIE.PH Delivery Sundays. I have a love-hate relationship to the fact that I have to go to work on Sundays. Though I really like the hassle-free transportation since most often than not, on weekends the roads are devoid of that nasty rush hour traffic we usually experience during the weekdays. Now my dilemma whenever I have to go to work on a weekend is food, not anyone have a lot of free time to whip up a decent home cooked meal for a packed lunch / dinner and usually during Sundays most of the food purveyors are closed.
For this week I was craving for some good Mexican food so I got these lip-smacking burrito and chimichanga from Ristras.
It’s no secret that I love anything that has bacon! And I’ve been wanting to try Banapple’s Holiday Cheesecake for quite some time. And wtith a lot of foodies raving about it, got me more eager to try this yummy creation. A light and rich cheesecake, sweet graham base, then you hit that crush, oh that lovely combination of mapled pecans and candied bacon! 😀
One afternoon I was in desperate need of some comfort food, and then I passed by this new pastry place at Greenbelt, that turned out to be Sweet Bella. I’ve wanted to check out their branch at Burgos Circle and try some of their pastry creations for quite some time now. Fortunately they opened one in Greenbelt 5, it’s a lot closer to the office and I can drop by anytime for my sweet tooth cravings.
First food we had at Baguio was this yummy strawberry taho.
A rather simple treat that costs only P20. A cup of the sweet and tart-y goodness of the strawberry matched with taho, this staple comfort food that’s normally served with arnibal (brown sugar and vanilla syrup) and sago (quite similar to pearl tapioca) will sure brighten up your morning.
This yummy strawberry version of taho is sold all over Baguio particularly in Parks and tourist spots.
Will post LOTS of yummy stuff from our weekend getaway in Baguio. Stay tuned 🙂
Okay I’m starting this series of posts that’s not like my normal restaurant review blog entries. It’s really about some random cravings that I munch on or quick bites / snacks that I really like. And I can practice my food photography skills too since most often than not I’ll shoot the food at home and have total control of lighting and whatnots.
First on my Quick Bites and Random Cravings Series; Double Chocolate Yema Cupcake from SLICE!
