22 Prime at Discovery Suites Ortigas – I had a lovely dinner here the other night, an indulgent meal that showcases their specialty dishes that they crafted specially for the upcoming holidays. Been hearing a lot of great things about this place from foodie friends and I’m very happy that I was able to try their food and other offerings last night. A fun night of good food and wine as well as bespoke cocktails by Enzo Lim.
A piece of USDA Angus Prime Ribeye served with a velvety purple potato puree and some green peppercorn sauce for that bit of zing. Fatty, and beautifully cooked with nice toasted bits on all the right places – a sure treat to us steak lovers.
Something very rich and decadent, their Foie Gras Terrine is fantastic covered with a nice pepper crust that’s a nice contrast to that gorgeous fatty slab of meat and served with a a side of dried fruit campote and red grape gastrique to give you a nice bit of sweet and fruity goodness.
Frome one gorgeous foie gras dish to a nice drink with the same base. Their Foie Old Time’s Sake is a nice treat made with foie gras infused bourbon and muscovado syrup, it’s a nice strong drink with great flavours.
A warm and comforting Pumpkin Bisque with a nice creamy soup base that’s slightly sweet and a nice aroma because of the truffle oil and foam that it’s topped with and then you hit the stars of melted leeks and crab ravioli giving you that awesome flavour, so good!!!
A favourite from the drinks that they served last night, Breakfizz of Champions is very good – the first whiff that you get is that smoky bacon goodness and then you hit that lovely base of bacon infused whiskey and layers of frothy egg white and then you get these lovely notes of orange – so good!
The steak has landed in all its meaty and fatty glory. A gorgeous piece of USDA Angus Prime Ribeye cooked medium rare with nice toasted sides and packing an amazing flavour, it’s served with a nice green peppercorn sauce that gives you a nice hint of spice and then there’s the purple potato puree that’s a nice starch filler to accompany the slab of meat. Paired with a nice glass of red and it’s all good.
How cute is this Gingerbread Cheesecake?! A nice velvety base with a classic graham crust and then you can hit the creamy cheesecake with the biscuit and those notes of cinnamon and spice brings a very nice celebratory and festive feel. This is very good with a cup of coffee.
And as I thought we’re done with dinner they served a Chocolate Buffet table full of chocolaty sweet tooth treats. From almond-white chocolate clusters to pralines stuffed with salted caramel, fudgy brownies, dark chocolate cream pies and pot de creme and french maracons – it’s every chocolate lovers dream.
