Two of my favorite local chefs recently teamed up for an amazing collab at one of my favorite buffet spots in the city. Chef Sau Del Rosario with his iconic and elevated kapampangan dishes and Chef Miko Aspiras that’s famous for his out of the box dessert creations. Their signature dishes will be available at Corniche – the buffet restaurant of Diamond Hotel until July 1.This is Chef Sau’s Crispy Kare-Kare Macadamia – one of his signature dish and is a real crowd pleaser. It’s the rich and luscious kare-kare dish that we all know and love cooked with macadamia nuts as base for the sauce and then you get that whiff of truffle oil. So good specially with a lot of bagoong and rice! Savor different signature dishes and dining staples from different countries across Asia at Seven Corners. The buffet restaurant of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria will serve some of our asian food favorites til the end of August.
Braving the metro traffic on a rainy night, we went to the restaurant to try some of their signature dishes. This bowl of hot Seafood Laksa just made everything okay. The soup base was lighter than what we usually have but the ability to customize your bowl from the toppings to the noodles is quite nice. The star of our lunch and the preview of this La Catalana food festival was undoubtedly the chef’s Paella Mixta. I love how he shares what he things is the secret to this festive dish. “Paella should have a little bit of everything but nothing in excess”. Not only is this paella a true eye-candy with my eyes glued to those carabinero / big head red prawns that they flew in from Spain, it actually very good as well. Many will agree that one of the best ways to experience Asia is through its food—historic, flavorful, and vast. Especially for the Southeast Asian region that boasts a multi-cultural and hard-hitting influence with the way we enjoy cooking and eating, it’s no wonder why dishes that hail from these regions are considered a feast for the senses.
Went to Sambo Kojin with some of my office-mates, (Happy birthday Mary!) finally got the chance to dine there and try their buffet! Marbled Beef awesomeness for the win!
